Oct 15, 2012 - The book, ostensibly a translation of Sophocles' Antigone, is illustrated with ink and watercolor drawings and hand-lettered (apparently in Carson's own hand). Oct 3, 2011 - The Burial at Thebes is a deft re-working of Sophocles's Antigone (not to be confused with Euripides's Antigone, which has a much happier ending). Heaney did the Heaneys' version, The Burial at Thebes, is well done but in turning it into something spoken I think some of the music was lost.
